Good morning, New York! It has been a great past few days for NY Fans with the Giants winning and Knicks getting two straight wins-that's thanks to our new starting point guard, Jeremy Lin. Despite the wins, the Knicks are still looking to improve.
I read an article yeterday about the Knicks wanting to pursue shooting guard, JR Smith. For those of you who do not know who he is, here's a little insight: He's a 3-point specialist who started out his career in New Orleans and spent the last 5 years in Denver. His career stats are 12.3 PPG, 2.2 APG and 4.1 RPG.
He's a really good player and would definitely help us out with our shooting woes, but I wouldn't take the gamble. He has a history of being wreckless (off court issues and also had beef with his past coach, George Karl) and that is something we can do without. If the LA Clippers (another team in hot pursuit of him) want him, let them have him.
I feel the Knicks should stick with the same guys. We have made too many changes in the past few years. Teams will release players in February to clear cap space and I'm sure some of those guys be guys would be able to help us out. If not, we can wait until the summer when there will be some pretty good free agents available, Steve Nash being one of them.
What do you guys think? Should the Knicks take a chance and pick up JR?
